There are a few reasons why you cannot log in!
1. Not waiting until you recieve your Activation Letter! Because we are so excited to read all the fun threads, we forget at times that we have to wait for the approval letter, or when we get the first letter which has our important information on it, we jump the gun per say. This is because some communities only send that one letter with our information and that is that. Here in freeforums it is set for two letters. 1. letting you know you are registered stating you will recieve a letter activating you! 2. Getting the Welcome Activation letter with important information such as downloading our toolbar so you never miss anything important again. Give 24 hours for the activation letter!
2. If you log in and then find yourself logged out chances are you didn't tick the box to auto remember log in thingy.
Being there is a xxx amount of timing when idol freeforums kicks you out. If you just make sure you check the box you should be until you shut down your computer or clean your cookies.
3. Some may have issues due to their browser and or settings within. First clean out your cookies (catch) before logging in. At times the cookies could clog up the works. Don't know how to do this: In IE go to the toolbar; click tools; click internet options; click delete cookies. If that doesn't do it then check on which browers your using.
AOL interface may cause some issues. If this is the case once you are on the net minimize your AOL and then launch either IE or Firefox.
Freeforums works the best with firefox browser. However IE v.6 works well as I use that myself and have no majour issues unless it's the server itself. Do not know about v.7 therefore cannot comment on that.
To tell if you are log in there are several ways. If you went into your profile and change the default style background this will be quite easy to tell when that style changes from the default. If your using the default then make sure where it says log in / out that it has Log out and will also have your user name beside it. If it does not then you were not log in.
